The talk considers the range of literary strategies that have been deployed in response to major landslides that have devastated towns and small cities in the past four decades in the Andes. In particular, it analyses the mechanisms of detective fiction in attempts to render coherent the chaos and destruction unleashed by such events. 

The lecture will be held in English and everyone is welcome.
