Myndin hlaut meðal annars Gullna pálmann á kvikmyndahátíðinni í Cannes og Golden Globe verðlaunin sem besta erlenda mynd ársins. Hún er á kínversku með ensku tali og tekur 170 mínútur í sýningu.

The Northern Light Confucius Institute screens Chen Kaige's masterpiece from 1993, Farewell my Concubine (Ba wang bie ji), a story of two friends and actors in the Peking Opera as it intertwines with dramatic events in twentieth century China.
The movie won the Palm d'or at the Cannes Film Festival, as well as the Golden Globe Award as best foreign film. It is in Chinese with English subtitles and is 170 minutes long.
