Anders Ekholm lektor við Hanken Sænska viðskiptaháskólann í Helsinki heldur málstofu í viðskiptafræðideild Háskóla Íslands: The relation between external shareholder incentives and investment returns.
Anders Ekholm and Benjamin Mury, explore the relation between external shareholder incentives and investment returns using a unique transactions data set representing all the more than 1.3 million different shareholders active in the Finnish stock market during a 12-year period. We develop a novel Incentive Index that gauges how concentrated the shareholders' holdings are in each firm. We find that our Incentive Index is significantly positively related to the operating returns, as measured by ROA and ROI, suggesting that shareholders who focus their investments perform a valuable monitoring role. We also find that the IncentiveIndex is significantly positively related to stock returns.
Anders Ekholm er lektor við Hanken háskólann í Svíþjóð og rekur eigið fjárfestingarfyrirtæki.
