Ph.D. study in Computer Science - School of Engineering and Natural Sciences

 

The Faculty of Industrial and Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science, University of Iceland, seeks applicants for a Ph.D. study within the CRISIS project, CRitical Incident management training System using an Interactive Simulation environment , a pan-European project including 13 partners, which is funded by FP7. The study will be in the area of human computer interaction, design and evaluations of natural interfaces technologies for emergency management training systems.

The applicant should hold an MS-degree in computer science, or related field. Prior experience with carrying out a research project, either at the B.S. or the M.S. level is very important. The candidate must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be capable of working within a team.

The position is to be given initially for one year,  starting as early as July 1st 2011,  with a possibility of an extension based on performance and funding availability up to a maximum of 3 years.
